Bipolar Disorder GUILT - (Quick Tip)
👉CONTACT ME DIRECTLY HERE: www.patreon.com/PolarWarriors
⚠️ BIPOLAR DISORDER GUILT: Something I struggle with is guilt from my past actions or behavior when I wasn't well. I've said and done many things that I wish I could take back. When I'm depressed, I start dwelling on all these things I regret. It puts me into a downward spiral where the depression gets even worse. I'm sure many of you can relate.
▶️ In this video from Polar Warriors, I'm going to share a simple tip that can help you soften how hard you are on yourself. If you struggle with Bipolar Disorder guilt, I hope this video provides you with some peace - and a new tool for your "Bipolar toolbox."
👉A FEW CAUSES OF BIPOLAR GUILT:
❗️ Behavior during manic or hypomanic episodes: People in a manic or hypomanic state may engage in risky or impulsive behaviors that they later regret. This can lead to feelings of guilt and shame, especially if the behaviors caused harm to themselves or others.
❗️ The impact of the illness on others: Bipolar disorder can be a strain on relationships. People with bipolar disorder may feel guilty about the burden they place on their loved ones.
❗️ Difficulties managing the illness: Living with a chronic mental illness can be challenging. People with bipolar disorder may feel guilty if they have trouble sticking to their treatment plan or if their illness interferes with their work or social life.
👉A FEW SIGNS OF BIPOLAR DISORDER GUILT:
❗️ Excessive rumination on past mistakes
❗️ Feeling worthless or like a burden to others
❗️ Withdrawing from social activities
❗️ Difficulty forgiving oneself
❗️ Increased anxiety or depression
👋 I personally live with TYPE 1 #bipolar disorder - with rapid cycling, and psychotic features. My videos aren't just for the millions of "Polar Warriors" out there who live with #bipolardisorder... They are also for the families, spouses, children, friends, and anyone else trying to understand more about the illness. Through the support, encouragement, education, and tools found in these videos, I hope you find yourself on a better path to mental wellness.

I resonate with this video so much. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 in 2018 after a psychotic episode. Ever since i spent the last 6 years going to friends and my ex fiancé when i was in a manic episode and either have said things i regret or vented to them and not changed my behaviors. At this point all my friends and and obviously ex fiance are gone and are done dealing with it. It sucks but its my fault. Being alone and living by myself i see truly the damage ive done and regret not dealing with my mental health independently instead of using my friends as a "crutch" for my own growth

At an elementary school, when a kid got in their lower brain(fight or flight), they taught us to truck the brain with what and how questions They also suggested questions regarding their senses. For example, you ask How many blue things do you see in the room? What did the teacher write in the board? Works.

I wasn’t diagnosed until age 44 but looking back I can see signs all the way to my childhood. Now I’m wondering if my son may have it as well because he shows several signs and was diagnosed as ADHD as a kid but the meds never helped him much at all. He’s 18 now so it’s almost impossible for me to get him to see a doctor if he doesn’t think there’s an issue and when I’ve suggested therapy before he’s been very adamant that there’s no need. Any suggestions for persuading him to at least talk to someone and consider the possibility?

Living with an adult family member diagnosed with bipolar. I struggle calling him out when he is being less then kind or understanding. Because I know he is very hard on himself when he realizes I don't appreciate his behavior. Do I confront these situations or do I just ignore them. Because I don't want to contribute to his depression.

I've heard "I had some serious anxiety in January and I pushed through, I got over it. It was hard but I did it." Referring to when I was unavailable to support her through it. And basically why can't I just get over my anxiety or depression. I was unavailable and in a crisis center. SMDH I've heard, "Well you are a hypnotherapist why can't you just hypnotize yourself out of it?" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 A cardiologist needs a heart doctor. I dietician needs a doctor. You are a christian aren't you, well why do you get sick and have problems? Why don't you just pray and have no problems and why haven't healed yourself? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 "You are a miserable person" "You are crazy" "Why do you take so much medicine. You should stop, you don't need all of that. What is it for?" I'm a compassionate person and I don't like telling people what's going on because they make my situation about them! This is not about you, and not something I can control.

I have a question for y'all. I'm going to visit a family member who I'm very close to. They have bipolar as well as a whole bunch of other health problems, some of which are terminal. I have PTSD which is triggered hard whenever anyone yells and swears. We try to compare it to my Tourette's because I don't have control over what I say when I'm ticcing, but my tics might be something like a random f bomb that is otherwise out of context. I'm worried, though, that if they're in an episode, they could accidentally say something that would deliberately hurt me. What should I do if that happens?

Sometimes, when I'm in an agitated hypomania, I firmly believe my husband doesn't believe my diagnosis, but when I take the time to calm down, I often realise that it's me that is telling myself that without any proof. We are sometimes very harsh on our spouses and that is unfair to them. We should try our best not to engage in unnecessary fights.
